Process fluids enter the PMD tank
either by gravity or by an external
pump. A vacuum pump draws the fluid
through a filter belt until the belt
becomes blinded. When blinded, a
high vacuum is sensed and the belt
advances. A high pressure pump
sprays the particulate into a quiet area
of the tank where a full width drag
chain elevates the particulate to the
discharge opening.
